Woodruff Academy History and Educational Philosophy
Woodruff Academy (WA), formerly Wilford Woodruff Academy, was founded in 1982 by June Woodruff Sullivan. Originally a small organization of home schooling parents, WA grew to become a cottage school support, providing extra-curricular activities and educational opportunities to home school students. Beginning in 2007, WA has additionally offered full on-campus classroom instruction four days a week, with additional educational opportunities on Fridays. WA is devoted to the home school advantages of individualized learning materials and pacing, as well as outstanding parental support.
It is the mission of Woodruff Academy to provide a quality education in an environment which fosters a child's love of learning, a respect for self, family, church, and friends, an appreciation for our American freedoms, and a desire to serve the members of his or her local community.
